Our Police Service will work as a team,
hand in hand with the community,
to protect and maintain a safe society for all.
The Patrol Section is vital to the New Glasgow Police Service and provides around-the-clock patrols in the community. Officers assigned to this section work on one of four platoons. Each platoon consists of a Sergeant, a Corporal and three Constables. Platoons work 12 hours shifts for four days and then are off duty for four days.
Duties include:
- Community patrol
- 911 Response
- Criminal investigations
- Funeral escorts
- Enforcement of Provincial Statutes
- Traffic Law enforcement
- Crowd control at various festivals and activities
- Domestic violence response
- Proactive community involvement
- Problem solving
- Response to non-emergency calls
