Water'n'Wine Truro has been in business since 1994. Owners Brian and Evelyne Jackson have been offering advice and enthusiasm to their customers for over 12 years in an effort to make the hobby of home wine and beer making as enjoyable as possible. Brian, Evelyne, and Don are certified in the Winemaking Excellence Program as offered by Winexpert. We support our community by raising money for the Colchester Regional Hospital Auxillary. We also support the summer reading program at Ecole Acadienne de Truro, Truro's French school. You can find us at Fundy Trail Centre, 68 Robie Street, Truro, NS B2N 1L2. Contact us at 902-895-2266 between 9:30 am and 9:00 pm Monday to Friday, and 9:30 am to 6:00 pm on Saturdays. We stay home on Sundays - it's the only time we can sample our own wines and beers. |
When is the best time to make wine and beer? Right Now!!!
With the heat on in the house and more time inside, this is a great time to plan your spring and summer needs.
Remember that home made wine and beer age very well. Wine is best between 2 and 12 months old (or longer!) and beer is great at 3 months. Some kits, like the Island Mist and Orchard Breezin' are ready to drink as soon as you make them - you can make them now or wait and see what new flavours may be offered!
Take stock of your inventory at home and plan for any events like weddings or family reunions. How much wine and beer will you need at the cottage this summer?
What type of foods are you enjoying with what types of wine? If you make a plan and stick to it, you can maximize those carboys and have a great stock for any needs that come up in the next 6 months.
