Ardyth & Jennifer
Ardyth & Jennifer
Ardyth Robinson and Jennifer Wyatt met almost a decade ago at a traditional Nova Scotia kitchen party and have been performing together ever since. Bringing their eclectic mix of harps, vocals, bass, percussion, whistles and original songs to audiences throughout the Maritime Provinces and into the New England States they have developed a unique style that combines elements of traditional music with the influence of jazz and contemporary songwriting. They have played at many premier folk festivals and concert venues, showcased in the Roots Room and songwriter’s events at the East Coast Music Awards for the last four years and have been featured on many local radio and television programs. As they have travelled, their unique style has earned them critical respect within the music community and an ever-growing fan base in Nova Scotia.
In March and April of 2006 Ardyth & Jennifer will be putting the finishing touches on their latest CD, which they will be releasing in early June. This CD will showcase a whole new set of original songs, and like all of their CDs (Awakening 1998, Promise 2000, WinterFire 2002 and Spark 2004) will feature clean, pure arrangements that allow the sound of the harps and voices to shine through. They are looking forward to a busy Summer season, which will include not only performances across the Maritimes at folk festivals and concert venues, but will take them into Ontario during May and June and Maine, Massachusetts and New Hampshire in July.
This Summer will also bring the possibility of a live concert video, shot at historic Sherbrooke Village in August with the technical advice of multiple ECMA and NSMW award winning producer Dave Gunning and music veteran George Brothers. Filmed live at the Courthouse in Sherbrooke Village, with the help of Pink Dog Productions, this television special will be pitched to Bravo and Vision TV to be aired during the Christmas season. Ardyth & Jennifer regularly tour at Christmas time with their annual 'WinterFire' tour, and plans for this year’s tour have already begun, with many repeat venues and the prospect of expanding to include many new venues.
Their CDs, Awakening (1988), Promise (2000), WinterFire (2002) and the mini CD, Spark (2004) are still very much in demand, with an ever-expanding market opening up through internet sales and radio exposure. Once they have their new CD, everything is in place to expand their market and touring possibilities even further, and they can’t wait to bring their music to a whole new audience this year…
