At Barrett Lumber, a family owned and operated business, our mandate is to consistently improve our position within the building construction supply industry by understanding, meeting and exceeding our customers expectations to supply exceptional value. Barrett Lumber was founded in 1926 by Harold T Barrett and operated as a water powered sawmill, evolving over the years to a modern day electrically powered mill. The company has remained a family owned operation, sons Keith, David and Hugh as owners and several of the third generation family are involved in the business.
The company has some land holdings and is involved with tree planting, logging and chipping (whole tree utilization).
The owners of Barrett Lumber have a strong sense of community, offering the use of their sign for community announcements, supporting schools, sport activities of the area, scouting programs and offering tours to interested groups.
Working smart and an eye to the technology available has resulted in acquiring the latest in computer equipment and the company benefiting with increased efficiency and productivity. The company continues to expand the product line to include a full range of building supply materials.
During the peak season, the company operates with approximately 70-75 employees, providing staff for the office, truss plant, planer mill, saw mill, garage, truck drivers and yard staff.
Engineered wood products have become a major part of our market over the past 20 years, beginning with the addition of a Roof Truss manufacturing plant in 1980 and stocking the Silent Floor systems, Micro-Lam, Parallam and Timberstrand beams in 1994.
Our technical people using in house computerized programs design both roof trusses and silent floor systems and welcome any inquiries you might have in this area.
