Judi Grant is a graduate of the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design in Halifax, Nova Scotia. She is a Halegonian by birth and a Cape Bretoner by choice. She settled here with her husband about 20 years ago, having bought and renovated an old school house on the south side of Big Baddeck Valley, now her home and studio.
Judy produces one of a kind colour-coordinated wall hangings for home or office. Each one is hand woven on a hand-lever controlled frame loom with a continuous warp. She also creates hand-thrown, unglazed pottery flower pots of native Nova Scotia red clay.
Judi has combined her love of working in two tactile mediums - wool, a material that she enjoys creating with on her loom during our long winter months - and Nova Scotia red clay, a cool material that makes a pleasant change to form and shape into flower pots during our short, sunny summers
The woven product line consists of:
- wall hangings
- wall blankets
- shawls and
- rocking chair throws.
The pottery line consists of: clay hanging baskets with iron hangers and flower pots of all shapes and sizes
