Parking is available at back & front side of the building. There is a parking fee of $2.00
Telephones
Pay Phones are available in the emergency department lobby and throughout the various floors.
Gift Shop
Volunteers under the direction of the Northside Ladies Auxiliary operate the Gift Shop, located on the ground floor.
Vending Machines
Vending Machines are located in the emergency department lobby on level one and the cafeteria on the ground floor.
Cafeteria
The cafeteria, located on the ground floor, is open to staff, patients and visitors between 7 am and 6 pm.
Chapel
The chapel is located on the north wing of the fifth floor.
Other Information
The hospital also has a 21-bed continuing care unit, Taigh Solas, which is Gaelic for 'Home of Comfort.' In the early 1900s, Alexander Hamilton donated his house to the Sisters of Charity to be used as a hospital. Then, in 1975, the provincial government bought the hospital and renamed it Northside General. In 1982, the hospital amalgamated with the Harbour View to form the Northside Harbour View Hospital Corporation.
