Servant, Dunbrack, McKenzie & MacDonald Ltd. (SDMM) provides a wide range of professional engineering, surveying and other geomatics services to local and national clients. SDMM, its predecessor companies and associated practices have provided professional services throughout Eastern Canada since 1875.
The company is Nova Scotian owned and managed by a professional staff who offers consulting and techincal services to its private, commercial, industrial and governmental clients. All professional staff members are professional engineers and/or land surveyors, licensed to practice in Nova Scotia and on Canada lands throughout Canada.
The company's engineering focus is primarily on municipal engineering and land development. Conceptual planning, drainage studies and design of roads and services are part of the engineering services offered to our clients. During the construction stage, project management is provided through the preparation of tender documents, inspections, testing and certification.
SDMM has a strong background in and a long history providing professional land surveying services. Our company has surveyed large tracts of rural woodlands, large subdivisions for both residential and commercial developments and complex land assemblies in urban centers. We also have extensive experience in construction surveys, condominium surveys, accidents surveys and boundary litigation.
SDMM is a member firm of Terratech Consultants Inc. a consortium of five Maritime owned companies. Through the combined expertise and experience, Terratech has provided the surveying services to Maritimes and Northeast Pipline for the Sable Offshore energy project.
The research and techincal staff use state-of-the-art, electronic field and office equipment to ensure that the techincal aspects of all assignments are executed in the most accurate and cost efficient manner possible. The company owns and utilizes the latest models of electronic theodolites (total stations) and RTK Global Positioning Systems (G.P.S) as primary, high-accuracy data collectors.
Our computing facilities are supported by an extensive suite of software including HASP\EDS AutoCAD 14 & 2000, Land Development Desktop, Liscad, Eagle Point and SKI-Pro. Electronic files of the final products can be supplied to the client in a wide variety of formats.
SDMM has held a 'Certificate of Recognition' from the Nova Scotia Construction Safety Association since December 16, 1996.
