Carpet construction consists of the surface face pile (yarn on top) and the backing that holds these fibres together. Most carpet fibres are either nylon, olefin, polyester or wool. They vary in wear, stain and matting resistance as well as cleanability.
LAMINATE
Laminates can look like real wood, tile or stone. They are constructed with a wear layer, then a decorative sheet, both bonded to a rigid core, usually fibreboard or wood, with a bottom balancing layer to prevent warping.
 VINYL
Vinyl flooring has two categories: inlaid and rotogravure, which provides you with an extensive selection of styles, colours and patterns. Both offer easy maintenance.
HARDWOOD
Solid, one piece boards are the most common type of wood flooring. There's also engineered wood which usually consists of a hardwood veneer top layers laminated to lower layers of softwood backing which inhibits warping. Most wood flooring today is pre-finished at the factory for ease of installation and uniformity of finish.
 CERAMIC
Ceramic tiles are available glazed or unglazed with fired glazes being extremely hard and durable. Porcelain tile is very popular and great for high traffic areas. Stone tiles comes in several forms and vary extensively with regard to their look, usage and durability.
