Our Mission
Coastal Financial Credit Union is a customer-owned financial institution whose mission is to provide value added products and services on a personal and professional basis while promoting and enhancing the economic and social well being of the communities we serve.
Our History
Coastal Financial Credit Union (with six branch locations) was formally created on January 1, 2001, as a result of the amalgamation of four Yarmouth County Credit Unions. We had been established in Yarmouth County for more than 60 years and our branches are a part of this history. We are a local member owned and controlled financial institution whose members are primarily the residents of Yarmouth County. Our credit union is open to any individual or association or business.

Shareholders
To belong our members have agreed to maintain a common share investment of $25.00.
Products
In order to meet the needs of our member-owners, we offer a full range of consumer loans, lines of credit, student loans, credit cards, including the gold and platinum cards option. In addition, we offer a full range of deposit products, including regular savings accounts, daily interest savings and chequing, as well as short and long-term investments. Furthermore, we also include registered retirement savings plans and registered retirement income funds, along with a range of investment fund products.
Experience
Being a locally owned and controlled financial institution means we have a local Board of Directors who establish guidelines and policies under which we perform our day-to-day duties. We currently have a board of 12 individuals; with representation from the various communities that we serve. We have approximately 61 employees to serve your needs. Our goal is to have the best-trained employees available, and we are committed to regular training for both staff and board members in order to meet this objective.

Developing long-term relationships is the foundation of our commitment to delivering high-quality service to our customer-owners, and to the general public. It is important that you are happy with the service we provide; however, we recognize that things can sometimes go wrong.
