Celebrating 50 years in business Island View Family Restaurant & Bakery is located in picturesque Western Shore, next to Wild Rose Park. We are a 3rd generation family run business. It opened on June 23rd, 1962, by Carroll & Florrie Mosher. The restaurant was called Island View Canteen, the locals called it the Green Canteen or the Bumper In. In 1974 it was passed on to their daughter Leonore Cleveland. She expanded the business, built on and in 1986 added a bakery to the mix. In 1999, her daughter, Natalie Corkum, took over as manager and now runs the business. We are famous for our Fish & Chips, fresh clams and famous homemade bread and rolls. There is take-out service as well as a 45 -50 seat dining room. We have a panoramic view of the islands and ocean. The dining room is a favorite spot to watch large storms, with the waves crashing over the rocks. There are a large number of picnic tables to enjoy the view while indulging in a large ice cream, either hard or soft, and our famous milkshakes, made with hard ice cream. In the summer months we have as many as 20 employees. Some staff have been with us for 30 years. We don't feel our staff work for us, they work with us. Our motto is: Serving the freshest seafood and friendliest service. View Island View Restaurant in a larger map |
