''Buy Where The Builders Buy''

3 Swinamer’s TIM-BR MART opened in 1954 when Russell Swinamer and partners realized the need for a building supply and manufacturing outlet in Windsor, Nova Scotia. At that time the company was a contractor-based business supplying local builders with all the materials necessary to complete their projects. They were also involved in manufacturing various types of wood products.

Over the years Swinamer’s ownership was passed down through the family up until 2000
4 when Ernie Crandall purchased the business from John Swinamer Jr. and Ches Roberts. Manager Brian MacDonald, changed the company’s approach by re-establishing a retail business. In 2001 he re-merchandised the store and they joined the TIM-BR MART buying group. To support this change Mr. MacDonald created marketing awareness by launching a series of advertising campaigns in the Windsor area. This coupled with a focus on service and knowledge, has helped Swinamer’s TIM-BR MART become one of the top building supplies companies in the area. Brian's next logical step was to purchase Swinamer’s TIM-BR MART so in 2010 Brian and his wife Cherie became the proud new owner/operators.
