This impressive Regency style house has Gothic influences being built in Circa 1820. It was a gift from the Honourable James Bond to his daughter Anne and her husband James Murray, Judge of the Probate Court.
The home stayed in the family until 1936. It has a bell-hipped roof and lovely Gothic windows on the first floor with 'prayer' windows above (so low one has to kneel to see out). Today, this Heritage Home is a Bed & Breakfast and is known for its lovely gardens and original stone wall.

Murray Manor was originally constructed as an English cottage in the early 1820s. The Regency architecture is Georgian with picturesque details such as the striking Gothic windows in the living room and study. The dining room displays a wonderful full height 4-bay window overlooking the gardens.
The house is accented with the attractive and unusual 'prayer' windows in each of the bedrooms. The house, centered in lovely manicured gardens, is surrounded by the original freestanding stone walls which provides a peaceful and relaxed setting.
Host, Brenda Atwood purchased Murray Manor March of 2007. After living abroad for most of her working life, she wanted to settle back in her home town with her Mom, Evelyn (pictured in photo). Also included in this photo are sister Sheila and brother Lendal who are on hand to help when needed with the operation of the bed and breakfast. Other family members and friends have volunteered their time as well, which is typical of the friendly, helping hands of the people of Yarmouth.
Murray Manor has a sentimental value in it's location as our Dad, Russell worked as engineer on the Bluenose Ferry from Yarmouth to Bar Harbor Maine, which is just down the hill from our home.
