Sailing has always been part of Lunenburg's heritage. It is Sea Dog Bag Company's idea to carry on the tradition of 'Sailing Ships and Iron Men', only with a twist. These one-of-a-kind bags are hand-cut into cleverly designed, functional, and of course attractive bags. Crafted from retired sails, contributed by sailors from around the world, each bag tells a story...or six! The Sea Dog Bag Company, makes the most of reclaimed materials to fashion unusual creations. Instead of these materials ending up in landfills, they gain a second life as unique bags and totes. Since they are hand-made in Nova Scotia, we help support the local economy while being environmentally friendly. Danette Eden has spend more than 20 years as a seamstress, creating a range of distinctive pieces. As a little girl, she loved to collect bags and now continues to follow her passion. In 2006, Danette began creating bags not just for herself but to share with others. As a sailor herself and a native Nova Scotian, she instills the spirit of old tradition with eco-friendly design. The stories behind these bags are as interesting as the bags themselves. View Sea Dog bag Company in a larger map |
