Boat building has been a tradition in Wedgeport for over 75 years and today Wedgeport Boats Ltd. is equipped to manufacture GRP (fiberglass) and repair wooden or GRP vessels for ocean bound work or pleasure. Our yard has its own moulds from which we are able to produce hulls ranging in size from 34ft to 50ft and breadths of 14ft to 23 ft. We also have our own in-house custom welding shop, two moulding shops, two finishing bays and a retail marine outlet store. We can accommodate both major and minor repairs and refit for vessels up to 55ft. We also have haulout facilities and a storage area. Whatever your boating requirements, from bare hull to a completed vessel, you can count on Wedgeport Boats Ltd.

Wedgeport Boats Ltd. is a category 'A' member of the Nova Scotia Boatbuilders Association (NSBA) of which Harland Martell, president of Wedgeport Boats Ltd., has served as a director since the NSBA’s inception in early 1998. He has served three years as Vice Chairman, as Co-Chairman for one term and is currently serving as Chairman for 2002-2003. Harland is a firm believer in the NSBA’s mission statement which reads, 'To create and foster an environment that promotes profitable and sustained export-oriented business growth for its members in Nova Scotia’s boatbuilding industry.', 'Promoting quality and standards for Nova Scotia’s boatbuilding industry.' He is also actively involved with CMAC (Canadian Marine Advisory Council) where he sits on the Standing Committee for Fishing Vessel Safety.
