Valley Regional Hospital Foundation

The Valley Regional Hospital Foundation is led by a Board of Directors that includes a representative from the Annapolis Valley Health Authority, Chief of Staff, Valley Regional Hospital and a representative from the Valley Regional Hospital Auxiliary.

Mission: “To raise and administer funds to support and promote health and quality health care at Valley Regional Hospital and that of the constituents it serves”

Back in 1986, people in the Annapolis Valley and surrounding areas joined together to help raise funds for their new Valley Regional Hospital. The Building Valley Health campaign met its goal of providing $8 million towards the construction of Valley Regional Hospital which opened in April, 1992.

Today, that figure has risen to more than $14 million – a phenomenal amount for an area of this size. This clearly shows the care and concern Valley people have for building healthy communities.

In 1990, a second major appeal was launched to provide for new equipment, raising $1.7 million.

Since 1986, the Foundation has supported specialized equipment, health care programs and services at Valley Regional Hospital and the communities it serves. Some of these projects have included support for:

• Chaplaincy Services
• Mobile Mammography Van Appeal for the western counties of Nova Scotia
• Capital Equipment Campaign for the purchase of a CT Scanner and other specialized equipment for Valley Regional Hospital
