Julie Skaling Physiotherapy Clinic is situated in the Valley Professional Centre, along with many other medical professionals including: Orthopedic, Vascular, ENT, and General Surgeons, Dermatologist, General Practitioners, Sole Provider Custom Orthotics (Pedorthists and Podiatrist) and more, all in the same building. There is plenty of free parking and we are located on the Kings Transit bus route less than 1 minute from the Valley Regional Hospital.

History / Background

Julie Skaling is the only Physiotherapist in the Annapolis Valley who is also a:

• Certified Therapist in Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) and Combined Decongestive Therapy (CTD)

• Canadian Certified Pedorthist

• Certified Custom Compression Garment Fitter.

She graduated from the School of Physical and Occupational Therapy at McGill University (Montreal) and award for the top mark in the graduating year. She was recognized with distinction and as a University Scholar.

For the past 18 years Julie has worked in the Kentville area mostly in Physiotherapy Private Practice and as a Certified Pedorthist and co-owner of Sole Provider Custom Orthotics and Medical Supplies with her husband Jeff Skaling

Along with the above certifications she is also Certified with the Acupuncture Foundation of Canada.

Julie Skaling Physiotherapy Clinic opened November 1st 2004 at 258 Cornwallis Street in Kentville. This building was a renovated Victorian home approximately 100 years old.
The clinic began with Julie as the sole Physiotherapist, plus a secretary, working 3 days per week. Within four years the business had grown to the point that the office on Cornwallis street was too small so in July 2008 the clinic moved into a new suite at 70 Exhibition Street, The Valley Professional Centre.
Currently Julie works with a team of five physiotherapists, two massage therapists, two support staff, five admin staff, and several consultants Occupational Therapist, Psychologists, Dietician, Pedorthists, a Podiatrist/Chiropodist).
The new facility is approximately 2000 square feet and includes eight physio beds, two massage rooms and a gym and a consultants room.
