Welcome to Stan’s Dad and Lad Shop was established in 1955 by Stanley Gibson. In 1960 Jim Myra joined the team and the store has been a mainstay on Lincoln St. for the past 56 years.

Over the past number of years Stan’s has expanded their corporate program and offers screen-printing and embroidery on all types of items for your business and sports teams needs.

Overnight Tailoring : Your purchase can be made to fit perfect with our professional overnight tailoring service.

Appointments : The staff at Stan’s knows that you can’t always make it to us during our regular business hours so if you contact us we will come in at special times to serve you that works for your busy schedule.
We can also ship items across Canada if you were here once or see something you like give us a call and we will help in any way we can.

Kids Area : If you have the kids and still want a relaxing shopping experience we have a spot in back with a TV that we can put on for the kids, plus we have wireless internet access they can use as well.

Return Policy : If you’re not satisfied with your purchase, we will take it back for a repair or exchange and if that’s doesn’t work we will give you a refund as we are here to satisfy.

Gift Certificates : We have gift certificates that are perfect when you are not sure what that special Man in your live would want.

Our Staff

Jim Myra – Jim started working at Stan’s Dad and Lad in 1960 while still attending Centre School and continued full-time after he graduated from school in 1962. Jim started buying into the business in the late 60’s and continued until he purchased the balance of the business in 2000. During his 51 years in Men’s retail he has seen many changes in fashion and shopping patterns but he is proud to let you know that the motto of Stan’s is to offer great quality products with a personalized service.

Jamie Myra – Jamie started in the business with his Father in 2000 after working at the Bluenose Golf Club for 18yrs., he decided in October of 2000 to run for elected office, Town Councilor and to change his career by going to work in the Family business. He always had an interest in sales and in 1991 he graduated from NSCC, Lunenburg Campus, with a sales and marketing course. Since joining the business Jamie has taken the role as the primary purchaser as well as the lead on the corporate end of things.

Valerie Whynacht – Valerie started working at Stan’s in 2005 and has been a great addition to the Team. She always jokes that the fact she is a Maple Leaf’s fan was the main reason she was hired during the interview. She has tremendous people skills which is a definite asset working with the two Myra men as well as constantly listening to the locals when they come in to shoot the breeze. Since joining the business Valerie has taken over the role of doing the paper-work and specializing in our wonderful window displays.
