Driftwood Boats sells custom handcrafted wooden boats built with the quality only a small business can offer. My name is Tom Fidgen, and my one-man shop is located in Belle Cote, Nova Scotia. The boat building tradition in Nova Scotia is hundreds of years old. I respect that history by building boats of the highest quality.
The boats I specialize in are: dinghies, double paddle canoes, Whitehall style skiffs, wooden canoes, and wooden kayaks.
The classic styles of my handmade boats are excellent for either rowing or sailing. They are a fusion of time-tested workmanship and high quality modern materials. If you are interested in another style of boat, I would be happy to talk with you. My years of boat building experience can apply to any style of boat.
Driftwood builds wooden boats using traditional lapstrake construction and the best in modern materials. High quality marine plywood and solid Mahogany are fused together with West Systems Epoxy to make a hull that is elegant, strong, and completely watertight.
